Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how MyFinTracker ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We built MyFinTracker to help you track your personal income, expenses, budgets, and account balances — and we designed it around a simple principle: your financial data stays on your device.

By using MyFinTracker, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

MyFinTracker does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the app.

The only data the App handles is the information you choose to enter while using it, including:

Transactions — amounts, dates, types (income, expense, or transfer), notes, and the categories/accounts you assign to them
Accounts — names, icons, and balances you set up (e.g., "Cash," "Savings Bank")
Categories — names and icons for income/expense categories you create
Budgets — monthly budget amounts you set, overall or per category
App settings — your chosen theme, currency symbol, passcode (if enabled), and notification preferences

This data is entered directly by you and is not collected from any external source.

How Your Data Is Stored

All data listed above is stored locally on your device only, using your device's local app storage. MyFinTracker does not:

Transmit your financial data to any server
Sync your data to the cloud
Share your data with any third party
Sell your data to anyone
Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes

Because everything stays on your device, we (the developer) have no access to your transactions, balances, or any other information you enter into the App.

Passcode Protection

If you choose to enable passcode protection, the passcode you set is stored locally on your device and is used solely to lock the App's entry screen. It is never transmitted anywhere and is not recoverable by us if forgotten (since we have no access to it).

Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder feature, MyFinTracker schedules a local notification on your device at your chosen time to remind you to log your expenses. This is handled entirely on-device through your operating system's notification system — no data is sent externally to trigger or manage this reminder.

Backup, Restore & Export

MyFinTracker includes optional features that let you:

Back up your data to a file (JSON format) that you choose where to save
Restore your data from a previously saved backup file
Export reports as CSV or PDF files for a date range you select

These actions are entirely user-initiated. Files created by these features are saved to storage locations you control (such as your device storage or a location you choose via your device's share/save options). MyFinTracker does not automatically upload, transmit, or share these files with us or any third party.

Permissions

MyFinTracker may request the following device permissions, used strictly for the purposes below:

Storage access — to save and read backup files, and to save exported CSV/PDF reports
Notifications — to display the optional daily expense-logging reminder

We do not request permissions unrelated to these core features (e.g., we do not access your contacts, location, camera, or microphone).

Data Deletion

You are always in full control of your data. You can:

Delete individual transactions, categories, or accounts at any time within the App
Erase all App data permanently using the "Delete & Reset" feature in Settings
Remove all data simply by uninstalling the App, since no copy exists outside your device

Children's Privacy

MyFinTracker is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children, as the App does not collect any personal information at all — from any user.

Third-Party Services

MyFinTracker does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not display ads.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or for legal/regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
